Are You Catching Enough Fish?

DIAGRAM - Online Ecosystem - E.S.KimEC - 12.12.2012

Professional marketers will mention the importance of systematizing your business development activities and building a pipeline or a sales funnel to capture leads.  For the longest time, savvy marketing directors have built these systems for their organizations in the physical world but, with the expansion of the Internet into all aspects of our lives, you should also do the same in the virtual world.

How strong is the online net that you’ve built?  And how wide is it cast in your ocean?

I’ve performed a quick assessment of E.S.Kim Enterprise Consulting’s online presence (including my personal online profiles) and illustrated in the diagram below the relationships among these assets and the flow of traffic.  The solid black arrows represent direct links between profiles in the direction in which traffic is designed to flow.  The white arrows represent “indirect” links which are either a non-clickable profile reference or, in the case of the two Twitter profiles, two accounts that follow each other for which the user will have to do some serious digging into each account to discover the relationship.

As you can see in the diagram below, all E.S.Kim Enterprise Consulting’s online assets form a network that can funnel and capture the flow of traffic with everything ultimately flowing to the main company site, E.S.Kim Enterprise Consulting | www.eskimec.com.  The bottom line is to design your online ecosystem so that you cast a tightly interwoven net and build an online network that funnels and captures the specific flow of fish that you want to catch.
